Keeping that summer glow from your fake tan can be easy with these following tips.
Exfoliate Before You Fake Tan
Mademoiselle Beauty recommend exfoliating before your fake tan treatment. Getting rid of any dead skin or left over fake tan is essential. Think of your skin as a canvas, you wouldn’t paint on a dirty canvas, you’d want to start fresh. When your skin is exfoliated, and the fake tan is applied to a fresh layer of skin, your tan will last so much longer!
Moisturise with An Aloe Vera Based Moisturiser!
Any fake tan lover will already know this, but keeping your skin moisturised makes all the difference to the life of your fake tan! The best moisturiser to use when you have a fake tan is an aloe vera based moisturiser. A good rule of thumb is to moisturise in the morning and before you sleep. You might think that moisturising before bed is pointless, but depending on the weather, your sheets and what you wear to bed, your skin can become dry and dehydrated overnight.
Stay Hydrated!
This brings us to our next tip – stay hydrated! Drinking water is truly magical for the skin! When your skin is hydrated from the inside as well as the outside, you’ll be less likely to see your tan start to “crack” and fade.
Avoid Waxing After a Fake Tan Treatment
When we wax, the wax rips both skin and hair from the body. If you remove even the first layer of skin after a fake tan treatment, you will be left with lovely wax strip shapes all over your body. If you are tanning for an event, try organising your wax appointment before or instead shave or try our Super Hair Removal machine!
Stick to Natural Soaps
Natural soaps won’t contain any chemicals that will break down or fade your fake tan. Natural soaps also contain botanical oils which will help your skin stay moisturised.
